EVENT PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

(Updated December 27, 2021)

Duke Campus Club is closely following community guidelines regarding COVID-19. As we have restarted some in-person events and programs this year, the latest Duke University and government recommendations have led us to require vaccinations and mask use for Campus Club events. The spread of the highly communicable Delta and Omicron variants, as well as current community vaccination rates, have resulted in this approach for the foreseeable future.

Given that the safety and health of our members is our top priority, all members, spouses, partners, and guests who choose to come to in-person Club-wide and Interest Group events must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. For any events after January 1, 2022, Campus Club also requires proof of booster shots.

Everyone is required to show proof of vaccination before attending each Club-wide and Interest Group event. We will accept an original, copy, or photo of a member’s or guest’s vaccination card upon arrival at the event.

Interest Group leaders may provide the option for attendees to submit vaccination verification via email or text prior to their Interest Group gathering; after verification, these emails or texts will be deleted to protect the attendee’s privacy. Each Interest Group is tracking vaccination proof separately (for privacy and administrative reasons). Members and guests will need to provide proof to each individual leader at the first Interest Group event they attend; it will not need to be shown at subsequent events for that particular Interest Group. With the addition of requiring booster shots, Interest Group leaders will need to recheck members’ vaccination status for the first event attended after January 1, 2022.

In addition, we require the use of masks for all indoor events (except while actively eating or drinking). For outdoor events, the use of masks is strongly recommended, but not required.

We understand that each member will have her own comfort level about whether or how she chooses to participate. If you have any questions regarding how an event or gathering will be organized, please reach out to the event coordinator or the relevant Interest Group leader.

These health and safety measures will allow everyone to feel as protected as possible as we continue to navigate the pandemic. Since the situation is constantly evolving, we are monitoring the latest Duke University, city, county, state, and CDC recommendations and adjusting our plans as needed. We encourage all our members to visit the event pages on our website for the most up-to-date plans. We’ve all been missing the in-person relationships that make Campus Club so special and hope to connect with everyone as safely as possible.
